The order includes updating the automation and process control technology for primary production at the Ebensee salt works as well as in the wining operations in Hallstatt, Bad Ischl and Altaussee. Future interface problems between individual modules can be ruled out using this uniform, company-wide "Salt works process control system". It will also result in uniform documentation and archiving of data, which is very important e.g. when tracing disturbances. With the flexible and expandable system, the salt manufacturer hopes to save money on service, maintenance, and replacement parts.

An important reason for the decision was the migration concept put together by B&R and Lenzing Technik GmbH.
