ACOPOS Servo Drives – Real-time Communication via Ethernet
08/02/2005
B&R offers the bus-capable ACOPOS servo drives for machine manufacturing in power ranges from 400 Watt to 64 kW. Network connectivity via ETHERNET Powerlink makes it possible to operate up to 240 axes in one line over the same network. With ETHERNET Powerlink, the network offers the only real-time communication currently available on the market. Transfer speeds of 200 µs are achieved when controlling the axes in multiplex operation.
B&R's software tool, Automation Studio, allows you to write the software and perform diagnoses of the servo drives using just one tool. The real-time bus provides extensive diagnostic functions. Motor – and junction temperature - samples of electric current and lag error data – these are just a few examples of how the start-up technicians are supported by Automation Studio. Of course, all of this data can also be used for machine visualization.

ACOPOS servo drives support the operation of all conventional motor types such as synchronous motors, asynchronous motors with or without a feedback system, linear motors, and direct drives. This system has already been used successfully for several years in different applications in areas such as materials handling as well as in the textile and plastics industries.
